Please join US Architects Declare on Thursday, October 15, for a Town Hall meeting of the US branch of this global movement to galvanize action and drive systemic change on climate change, social justice, and biodiversity.
At the Town Hall, presentations and open discussion will address:
Architects Declare was founded in the United Kingdom in May 2019, and has expanded to include branches in more than 20 countries around the world, connected globally but working locally as activists to change the building industry.
US Architects Declare has a three-part focus on climate breakdown, social injustice, and biodiversity loss as interconnected crises that demand urgent action. We recognize that the practices of the building industry have a negative and measurable impact on the health of the environment, as well as on human and non-human forms of life. We believe that these issues must be understood in relation to each other, and that the urgency of the crisis requires immediate transformation in the way we teach, practice, and build. We believe that this means working collectively, across offices and institutions, to think beyond the boundaries of our roles on individual projects. Read the US Architects Declare manifesto, add your firm as a signatory, and join the US Architects Declare mailing list here.
Every day brings more evidence of the need for urgent, fundamental change in the ways we build and live in the world. Register for the October 15 Town Hall and join in work to help drive that change.
