Andrew Kapochunas, of the New York Map Society and Newtown Creek Alliance, presents an illustrated talk on part of Queens history. Newtown Creek, once full of life and later the busiest maritime trade route of its size in the U.S., is now a Superfund site. With maps and photos, Andrew will chronicle the creek's life, death, and resurrection and the Newtown Creek Alliance's work.
